Vlad Bolboceanu - Ceramică


Ceramics. Vlad Bolboceanu – revolutionized the artistic criteria in ceramics, transcending the mere functionality of material and entering a terrain of decorative aesthetics, thus positioning himself as a force of innovation within the art scene of Moldova. He was born in 1956 on the 8th of February, in the village of Colicăuţi, Briceni region.
Graduated from the „Alexandru Plămădeală” Art Colledge, form Chisinau,in 1975, and in 1980 – The Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn.
Upon returning home, to Moldova, the ceramist builds the foundations for decorative art. Opens a department of Decorative Arts at the Academy of Art in Chisinau. 
Vlad Bolboceanu had prominent disciples such as: Valeriu Vînagă, Victor Macovei, Irina Filip, Octavian Romanescu, and others. He becomes a member of the Association of Artists from Moldova in 1991.
On the 24th of July 2004, the artist, sadly, passes away before his time, remaining one of the most talented representatives of contemporary art from Republic of Moldova.
