Today, November 26th, we had the pleasure of celebrating 85 years since the founding of the National Museum of Art of Moldova, an event marked by the launch of permanent exhibitions featuring national painting and graphics.

During the ceremony, Mrs. Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, congratulated the National Museum of Art of Moldova and awarded it the Order of the Republic for its remarkable contribution to the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, exceptional exhibition activities, and the promotion of local art and artists.

  • The event was opened by Mr. Tudor Zbârnea, General Director of the National Museum of Art of Moldova.
  • Mrs. Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, delivered a speech and presented state honors, recognizing the significant contributions of the Museum and its entire team in promoting national art and preserving cultural heritage.

As a token of appreciation for their achievements in restoring cultural assets and enhancing museum heritage, President Maia Sandu awarded the title of Master of Art to the employees of the National Museum of Art of Moldova:

  • Svetlana Chiriac, Natalia Golenco, Elena Grigorașenco, Gheorghe Nicolăescu (restorers), and Polina Kolomeeț-Safronova (historian and art critic).
  • Mr. Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Culture, delivered a congratulatory message and expressed his support for the Museum's ongoing activities.
  • Her Excellency Katarina Fried, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Moldova, highlighted the importance of cultural collaboration and the support provided by Sweden for this project.
  • Mr. Ali Ezzatyar, Deputy Head of Mission at USAID Moldova, emphasized the impact of modern technologies in promoting culture and education in the Republic of Moldova.
  • Mrs. Doina Nistor, Director of the Future Technologies Project, presented the technological initiatives implemented in the museum and their impact on visitor experiences.
  • Mrs. Irina Străjescu, Director of the Moldcell Foundation, made a donation of equipment to support the museum's development and modernization.

The event concluded with the presentation of art in VR and AR by Pavel Brăila and Oxana Capățina, offering the audience an interactive and immersive experience in the world of national art, blending tradition with technology.
