The current exhibition marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of the Romanian literary romantic Mihai Eminescu, celebrated on both sides of the Prut. The National Art Museum of Moldova has also joined the cultural events planned for 2025, declared the Year of Eminescu, organizing an exhibition of paintings, graphics and sculptures, known and appreciated in the artistic environment of our country. 
The museum's exhibition and the works on display represent a space in which the characters of Mihai Eminescu - Luceafărul , Călin, Sărmanul Dionis, Făt-Frumos din tei, Pajul Cupidon and many others - converge, offering a cosmic, universal dimension.
Among the reference works in Basarabian painting dedicated to the Luceafărului are the works by Mihai Grecu And I will be earth (1973-1985), Elena Bontei's Luceafărul (1989), the painting After the third letter by Eleonora Romanescu (1988) and Dedication by Vasile Nașcu (1989).
